I graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill with a Bachelors degree in statistics. I worked for IBM Consulting as a data analyst and project manager. While managing a design team at Coca-Cola we inevitably ran out of money and couldn’t afford to bring in additional designers. I volunteered to learn about UX and UI to keep the Coke Freestyle project moving forward. I worked very hard to learn all of the skills and tools required of a designer. One of the Partners at IBM iX noticed how quickly I transformed into a designer, ultimately saving us lots of time and money on the project. He invited me to continue as a full-time designer at IBM iX. This began my journey as a designer and design manager for Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies
